According to Meelis Jürgens, CEO of Estiko Packaging Solutions, this achievement highlights the valuable recognition of the company’s long-standing efforts and green philosophy.
“Our actions reflect the sustainability strategies of our key partners. It is vital for both them and us to focus on how we can protect the environment,” said Jürgens. Estiko Packaging Solutions has made educating clients a priority, offering not only packaging footprint calculations but also sustainability audit services that help to redesign clients current set of packaging to be more sustainable.
“Over 99% of the environmental footprint of Estiko Packaging Solutions is linked to the client’s product, making client education our top priority. Sustainable packaging must be reusable, made from renewable materials, and recyclable,” Jürgens explained the principles of sustainable production and the circular economy.
In addition to education, Estiko has made significant green investments in recent years to enhance its resource efficiency. Since 2021, all Estiko’s packaging has been produced using green energy. The company has also made substantial investments in renewing and expanding its machinery, allowing it to meet the demand for sustainable packaging in a significantly more resource-efficient manner.
“Sustainability is our way of ensuring our status as a trustworthy and strong partner for the next century ahead,” stated Jürgens.
Kristo Seli, CEO of Estiko Group, added that the award is certainly a great recognition, but also a significant responsibility. “A thoughtful approach to the environment is a lifelong journey, and we have yet to reach our final destination on this path. Mindful, reasonable, and environmentally considerate science-based solutions are what we strive for together with our partners, and it is wonderful to see them acknowledged externally,” Seli said.
