Estiko Packaging Solution’s latest investment increases production capacity for spouted pouches

Estiko Packaging Solution’s latest investment increases production capacity for spouted pouches

The leading packaging supplier in the Baltics, Estiko Packaging Solutions, continues to invest in modern production solutions with the acquisition of a new spout welding machine. The investment increases the company’s capacity to produce increasingly popular stand-up pouches for food products as well as for other industries.

The new equipment enables Estiko to increase production volumes for spouted pouches, which are widely used for pourable products, such as yoghurts, smoothies and baby foods, as well as windshield liquids and other household chemicals. The additional capacity helps the company better respond to customer demand for convenient, functional and resource-efficient packaging solutions.

The growing popularity of stand-up pouches reflects a broader shift in the packaging industry. where market is moving more towards lighter and practical alternatives compared to rigid packaging. This development is also being driven by the European Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), which has recently entered into force. The regulation is steering the entire packaging value chain towards reducing excessive packaging and improving packaging recyclability.

“In light of PPWR, it is becoming increasingly important to consider packaging across its entire life cycle,” said Kristjan Meister, Production Manager at Estiko Packaging Solutions. “Our role is to be a partner to our customers, helping them navigate these decisions consciously. The addition of the new spout welding machine gives us greater capacity to bring such solutions to life at a larger scale,” Meister added.

The new fully automatic equipment for spouted pouches not only increases production capacity but also supports Estiko Packaging Solutions’ move towards more modern and automated production.

The addition of new equipment helps Estiko support the transition towards lighter and more resource-efficient formats while responding to changing market and regulatory expectations. The investment strengthens the company’s position as a manufacturer of flexible packaging solutions and creates a foundation for further growth in both Estonia and export markets.
